Maryann McGovran

North Fork Rancheria, Treasurer

Maryann McGovran was first elected to the Tribal Council of the North Fork Rancheria in November 2004, as Treasurer.

She was re-elected in 2008 and 2012 and served as Vice-Chair, from 2014- 2016 she served as the Chairwoman. Treasurer McGovran currently serves on the following Committees and Boards; Secretary Tribal Advisory Committee for Indian Health Services as the California delegate, Administration for Children and Families Tribal Advisory Committee as the California delegate, National Congress of American Indians Tribal TANF Task Force Co-Chair, California ICWA Task Force Co-Chair, and Board member of California Tribal Families Coalition.

Treasurer McGovran has been active in the Indian Education program at several local area schools, served on the Board of the local North Fork Community Development Council (CDC), and as a Commissioner for the North Fork Indian Housing Authority.

Prior to her tenure with the Tribal Council, Maryann worked as a Retail Manager for a clothing store and a Flower Shop where she became a certified floral designer, and she spent several years working in the construction industry for residential and commercial projects.  She feels that all the on-the-job training she received from these jobs helped prepare her for Tribal Council.

Maryann lives in the North Fork with her husband of 30 years, Harley Duane McGovran, who has worked for the Sierra National Forest as a Fire Fighter for over 30 years. They have two children, Sierra Naomi McGovran and Harley Cody McGovran, as well as two Grandsons, Koda Joseph Elias and Kyler Guy Elias.
